Artful Simplicity
Welcome to Springside! This 3.5 storey terrace was very much in its original condition since obtaining TOP over 20 years ago. Its new owner gave us a free hand to redesign the house, tailoring it to personal preferences. After an in-depth discussion with the new owner, we decided to give the house a minimalist, understated luxury look. White was selected as the dominant colour to fulfill the underlying intent of evoking a sense of elegance and purity with a demeanor an art gallery.
Incorporating the personal requirements of the new owner, one of the first things we corrected was the lack of natural light in level one. The layout in level one was remodeled to achieve spatial expansion, allowing natural light to grace its presence in the new open concept layout. Large panels of sliding glass doors were fitted at each and the air well was converted to the dining area. The clear glass roof extends to just before the end, allowing rain to fall into the balcony in junior master’s bathroom at level 3. Not only does this shade the dining from rain, it also allow airflow into the house as well as heat to escape.
Having an open concept layout makes stepping into the house a breeze! The sense of space is complemented by the double volume ceiling to the left of the main door where a lift was added to futureproof mobility needs. The glass furniture, black and white tones are juxtaposed by the reds on the sofa set, foosball table and pinball machine giving a vibrant pop to the neutral setting.
